Glass Rice is proud to present, Community, co-curated with our friend, Sydney Pfaff of Legion. We are honored to inherit her former space at 808 Sutter and excited to bring together a mixture of 22 friends and valued artists from both Legion and Glass Rice for our inaugural show.
After collectively taking some time away from our physical space during this difficult and impactful time, to say the least, we have found ourselves craving ‘community’. It only felt right to bring together ours through a group exhibition of talented artists in the forms of painting, sculpture, collage, printmaking and woodwork. In hopes of giving back to our broader community, we are donating a portion of all proceeds to Color of Change, an organization dedicated to exposing and fighting racial injustice in our country and Oakland Second Line, a project aimed at inspiring Black neighborhoods in Oakland, CA through music and art, while also instilling ideas of sustainability, community, and craft.
Community will open Saturday, July 11th from 11-6 PM in our new space. In accordance with local measures to keep us safe, our gallery will be open with limited capacity for the opening reception. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a time to see the exhibition or visit us at your own leisure.
