Dates: July 10 - July 31, 2021
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 10 | 11 AM - 7 PM
Glass Rice is proud to present Community, our second annual group show featuring work by six new and seven returning artists. This show will feature painting, collage, drawing, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
Last year after a difficult period of Shelter in Place, Community began as our inaugural exhibition in our new space. We brought together a mixture of friends and valued artists in an effort to give back to our broader community. This year, we will continue the tradition by donating a portion of proceeds to Cut Fruit Collective, a local grassroots group creating art for Asian American and Pacific Islanders community care and celebrating the many facets of AAPI identity. Their organization is driven by art, community, and a shared love of food. Their goals include, but are not limited to; supporting AAPI artists, amplifying AAPI activists, investing in vulnerable AAPI communities, and building coalitions between AAPI communities and beyond.
In making Community an annual show, we hope to continually give back to local organizations in the Bay Area who are at the forefront of bringing people together through aid and art.
